What is Crowdmug?

Crowdmug is a fun and effective way to see PLACES how they are the moment you desire. We think that if most of the information online can be real time why can’t visual information of places?
With Crowdmug you can now:
✓ Be better informed of the status of any place before heading there.
✓ See real time photos or videos of places both near you and away.
✓ Get a 360 view of a place inside and out, when you need it.
✓ Build trends of places based off the photos and videos submitted over time.
✓ See if a particular bar or lounge is packed before heading out for the night.
✓ have it help you make decisions on where to hold meetings and events without actually having to physically be there.

What are the steps involved in requesting a photo or video of a place?

It’s very simple. Just select what you want to receive (photo, video, or both), how much you’re willing to offer, and when you need it by. That’s it!

What are the steps involved in accepting an offer?

It’s very simple. Just select the offer you wish to complete. Review any special instructions the requestor may have provided and tap on the “accept and upload” button. From there you can select the photo from your library or activate your camera. Once upload is complete just tap on the “Submit” button and you’re done!

Do I have to make a deposit before creating an offer?

Only if you don’t have any available credit. You can earn credit by completing other offers. Keep in mind credit earned initially goes into a pending status for 48 hours. During this period these funds won’t be available for cash out and can’t be used for offer requests. The reason for this is to ensure quality of photo/video submissions.

Can I edit a request while it’s running?

Yes, tap on the “Account” tab and then select “Recent Offers”. You will then be provided a list of all of your recent offers. Select the offer you wish to Update and you will be provided an “Edit” button in the top navigation section. Once the edit button is selected it updates the page into a form to allow you to make any changes you wish.

When trying to cash out I see some of my earnings are in a “pending” status. Why?

This is most often related to a recent completion of an offer. If you have recently completed a requestor’s offer then the earned funds go into a pending status for 48 hours to allow the requestor an opportunity to dispute the submission in the event it was not what they asked for.

Can I request more than 1 photo or video in a single request?

Yes, you can request up to 3 photos and 1 video in any single request.

How do I signup for Crowdmug?

Our signup is very simple. Launch the application, tap the “Start” link, provide your full name, email, and a password. That’s it, you’re done!

I requested a photo of a place and the photo posted was blurry. What do I do?

Not a problem. You can simply dispute the submission by tapping on the “Dispute” button located in the details section of your completed offer. Provide a brief explanation of why you’re making the dispute and you’re done.

I’ve earned $20 from posting to offers. How do I cash out on Crowdmug?

Very simple. We offer two methods of cashing out. You can transfer earnings to a Paypal account or have a check mailed out to an address you specify.

Does Crowdmug allow me to negotiate the compensation offering set by the requestor?

Unfortunately not at this time.

Is Crowdmug available outside the US?

Unfortunately not yet. We’re working on it.

Is Crowdmug only available on the iPhone?

As of now yes. However we’ve already began working on an Android app.

What is the minimum age requirement to use Crowdmug?

Children under the age of 13 are not allowed to use Crowdmug. See our Privacy Policy.

I don’t want anyone to know I’m requesting a photo. Is this possible on Crowdmug?

Yes. We’ve made it incredibly easy to post requests anonymously. Once you have created your request there will be an option to select “Post anonymously”.

How can I use Crowdmug for my business?

Crowdmug can help businesses a number of ways. Event planners no longer need to physically travel to places to see them. They can request both photos and videos with specific instructions of what they want to see. Scheduling off-site meeting at unknown locations can now be done with confidence. Know if a particular place offers adequate space and privacy ahead of time.

How much does the app cost?

The app is completely free.

Can I post my own photos and videos of places for others to see?

Of course! Anyone can post photos and videos of places even if there is no request for it. Just go to the Places tab and select the place you’re at and upload your photo and/or video. If it passes our filters it will be broadcasted for all to see.

How do you check to make sure a photo or video is of the right place?

We’ve implemented filters into the software to check the accuracy of photos/videos uploaded. This is a continuous work in progress. We’re currently working on a feature that will allow users to help the software maintain proper quality standards of uploaded objects.

I saw an inappropriate photo what do I do?

You can email us at bad [at] crowdmug.com. We’re working to make this an automated process very soon.
